Blepharitis (Inflamed Eyelid) Research
Blepharitis is an inflammation of the eyelid that can be caused by bacteria, parasites, problems with the eyelid’s glands, or other associated conditions. Symptoms of blepharitis include eye discomfort and crusting on eyelashes. It can affect people of all ages and backgrounds. Unfortunately, there are currently no FDA approved medications available for most types of blepharitis, though accurate diagnosis and good eyelid hygiene are the first steps.
Nature Coast Clinical Research – Crystal River is conducting a research study that will evaluate an investigational ointment for treating blepharitis (eyelid inflammation).
You may be eligible to participate if you:
- Have an inflamed eyelid (blepharitis)
- Have had blepharitis in the past that did not respond adequately to lid hygiene
There are additional criteria to meet to qualify for this study. Volunteers who qualify for our study will receive study-related investigational ointment, eyelid wipes, & medical exams at no cost, and a stipend for time and travel. No health insurance is required to participate.
