Lyme Disease Investigational Vaccine Research

Do you hunt, hike, or spend time enjoying the outdoors? Have you heard of Lyme disease? It is a very common disease caused by Borrelia bacteria and transmitted through tick bites. Despite efforts by the CDC and local governments to mitigate the spread, Lyme disease cases continue to increase yearly. Typical symptoms include fever, headache, rash, and fatigue. Lyme disease can be treated with antibiotics if detected in time but is difficult to diagnose. If left untreated, Lyme disease can spread to the joints, heart, and nervous system.

Currently, there is no approved vaccine for Lyme disease. Research volunteers are needed for new vaccine options. We are conducting a research study for healthy participants that will evaluate the safety and immune response of an investigational vaccine for Lyme disease.

You may be eligible if you:

• Are 18 – 70 years old
• Have a BMI between 18 and 39
• Have not had Lyme disease within 3 months

There are additional criteria to meet to qualify for this study. No health insurance is required to participate.
