AZ D7960C00015 ASCVD/CVOT 

Purpose of the Study:

This study is testing an investigational oral medication called AZD0780 to see if it can help lower the risk of serious heart and blood vessel problems, such as heart attack or stroke, in people who already have cardiovascular disease or are at high risk of developing it

Who can join:

A previous heart attack, stroke, or poor circulation in the legs, or High risk for a first heart-related event due to:

• High cholesterol
• Diabetes
• Kidney disease
• Plaque buildup in the arteries
• Older age and other cardiovascular risk factors
• Taking cholesterol-lowering medication and on a stable treatment plan.

Who cannot join: 

•  Planned heart or blood vessel procedure in the next 3 months
• Severe kidney disease
• Uncontrolled diabetes
• Recent use of certain cholesterol-lowering medications (including some PCSK9 inhibitors)
• Other exclusions may apply.
